More About Bhuvnesh Chawla
Bhuvnesh Chawla is the Chief Marketing and Growth Officer at Burson Group India. He spearheads new business development and growth, external communications, thought leadership and marketing initiatives for the firm and its brands in the country. Bhuvnesh also mentors the Step Up, an exclusive team which focuses on providing public relations services to startups in India.
A seasoned industry expert, he brings close to three decades of public relations experience and is adept in driving growth of clients, fostering key partnerships, and developing new service offerings to deliver on Burson’s promise of building reputational capital for global and Indian brands.
Prior to this, Bhuvnesh was Business Lead for PPR South Asia (part of WPP) and was responsible for growing and managing the business; establishing client SOPs; and overlooking client programmes. He previously worked as General Manager – North India and Country Client Services Director for Waggener Edstrom, including setting up the New Delhi office, with a strong proposition to provide insights led integrated campaigns that create positive business impact.
Earlier, he was associated with Genesis-BM for 11 years and was the Chief Marketing Officer at the agency. Bhuvnesh has managed business acquisition, launched new services and practices, built thought leadership for the agency and developed and managed a national and South-Asia affiliate network for the agency. He has led several client campaigns during his tenure at the firm as a client servicing leader in the Technology and Corporate practices at the firm. He is credited with introducing the healthcare practice at the firm, which now continues to grow under GCI Health brand in the country.
Bhuvnesh is a graduate in Biochemistry from Delhi University. He started his career with a pharmaceuticals company, where he launched an HIV confirmation kit using immunofluorescent assay (IFA), for the first time in the country. He also worked with Thomas Cook in their wholesale foreign money division.
