More about the role:

As an Account Executive, you will contribute to Burson’s success by engaging in day-to-day client activities under the supervision and guidance of senior team members within our Corporate and Public Affairs Practice. We are seeking passionate professionals interested in delivering measurable impact across reputation management, corporate and public affairs. You will be part of a team that leverages strategic and creative insights to develop sophisticated client strategies aligned with business objectives. We are seeking people that have a keen interest in the corporate and public affairs implications of emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence, as well as related dynamics, including geopolitics and sustainability. Your clients will span global, regional (APAC), and local levels, in both private and public sectors.

What you'll do:

  • Be knowledgeable about your clients, their industries and competitors.
  • Follow current affairs and news relevant to your clients e.g. on geopolitics, local politics, AI, regulatory affairs, public policy, corporate and business news.
  • Participate in and contribute to a range of corporate and public affairs work including (not necessarily all): research and analysis; reputation strategy; risk communications; crisis and issues management; stakeholder engagement and coalition building; public diplomacy; corporate responsibility; financial communications; employee engagement; government and regulatory affairs; media relations; executive coaching and media training.
  • Participate in team and client meetings and be comfortable sharing and presenting your views internally and in front of clients.
  • Monitor media coverage and social media discussion of clients.
  • Support the account team on daily administrative tasks.
  • Play an active role in developing first drafts of press materials (e.g. press releases) as well as coordinating the logistics ahead of events (e.g. media briefings).
  • Assist the senior members of the team with research, case studies and other materials for client presentations, new business proposals, pitches and industry award submissions.

Experience that contributes to success:

  • Interest in areas relevant to corporate and public affairs including but not limited to: history, culture, politics, international relations, economics, social issues, sustainability, regulatory developments, technology developments.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate emerging technologies, especially AI, into strategic communications and public affairs frameworks, or familiarity with the ethical, regulatory, and reputational implications of AI adoption.
  • Degree qualifications with at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in corporate communications / corporate affairs / public affairs.
  • Sound media relations with regional and local media across sectors is a plus.
  • Experience serving regional / international accounts is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Cantonese are essential.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team.
  • Self-motivated and organized when facing multiple tasks.
