More about the role:

Burson has an immediate opening for an Account Executive, Public Relations to support a major oral care portfolio within the agency’s Consumer & Brand practice. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to integrated communications work across multiple household-name brands, supporting campaigns that span earned media, influencer engagement, events, product storytelling, and purpose-driven communications.

As an Account Executive, you will play an important role in supporting day-to-day client activity under the guidance of senior team members while continuing to grow your strategic and client management skills. This position is highly collaborative and offers meaningful exposure to client-facing work, cross-functional teamwork, and integrated communications execution.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn. This person should be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while contributing thoughtful ideas, strong execution, and reliable support across account workstreams.

What you'll do:

  • Support day-to-day account and project management activities across a major oral care portfolio, helping ensure deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and aligned with client expectations.
  • Build knowledge of the client business, including brand platforms, campaign priorities, competitive activity, and the evolving media landscape across health, beauty, wellness, and purpose-driven communications.
  • Assist with the development and execution of earned media strategies, including proactive pitching, media outreach, monitoring, and ongoing relationship management support.
  • Draft and edit communications materials such as press releases, talking points, briefing materials, status updates, reports, presentations, media lists, and other client-ready documents under guidance from senior team members.
  • Participate actively in internal and client meetings, contributing updates, ideas, and thoughtful input while continuing to build confidence in presenting to a variety of audiences.
  • Monitor media coverage, track campaign performance, and compile coverage reports and analytics recaps to support ongoing client reporting needs.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of media and influencer events, including logistics coordination, materials preparation, staffing support, and follow-up needs.
  • Support integrated programs involving influencers, editors, talent partners, and other external stakeholders as part of broader brand campaigns and activations.
  • Coordinate product shipments, editor mailers, influencer mailers, and additional in-office support tied to campaign launches and event activity.
  • Conduct research and gather supporting materials for presentations, award submissions, trend tracking, and new business opportunities as needed.
  • Coordinate timelines, meeting agendas, status trackers, and internal communications to support seamless account management across workstreams.
  • Work closely with senior team members while also helping provide direction on select administrative or coordination tasks to junior support where appropriate.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment that values accountability, creativity, initiative, and professional growth.

Experience that contributes to success:

  • 2–3 years of experience in public relations, communications, media relations, or a related field; agency experience and consumer brand experience preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting consumer health, beauty, lifestyle, wellness, CPG, or purpose-driven brands is a plus.
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging across a variety of audiences and formats.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in earned media, consumer storytelling, events, and integrated communications campaigns.
  • Experience participating in client communications and contributing to day-to-day account management responsibilities with increasing ownership.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams and levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with media monitoring and database tools such as Cision and Muck Rack is a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for learning, taking initiative, and contributing to a team that values quality, accountability, and development.
  • Availability to work from New York, where the client, events, and key in-person responsibilities are centered.

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range between:
$35,000$75,000 USD
