More about the role:

Burson is looking for a Vice President to join our Health & Wellness practice, serving as the account lead for one of our marquee healthcare clients in the diabetes and obesity space. This role is ideal for a strategic leader who excels in client service, inspiring creativity, omnichannel marketing, and cross-functional team management.

This opportunity is centered on large-scale pharma marketing, with a focus on leading integrated, social media and advertising multi-channel campaigns. While the role may include communications elements, we are looking for someone with experience in marketing-led strategy, channel orchestration, and social-first creative, rather than traditional public relations-driven work.

The Vice President will oversee the full scope of account operations, ensuring alignment across marketing strategy, digital, media, content, and stakeholder engagement, and will be responsible for delivering measurable business outcomes through fully integrated, omnichannel programs. The Vice President will also be part of the account’s internal leadership team with responsibilities that include organic growth and cross-portfolio initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement integrated, omnichannel marketing strategies with a focus on social media advertising but often spanning OOH, linear, CTV, and earned channels to drive brand and business outcomes.
  • Lead the planning and execution of large-scale, multi-channel campaigns, ensuring strategic alignment and cohesive storytelling across paid, owned, and earned touchpoints.
  • Provide senior-level counsel on channel strategy, audience targeting, and performance optimization.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (strategy, creative, media, data/analytics, and PR) to deliver fully integrated marketing programs.
  • Partner with external agency partners as well client’s paid media agency
  • Guide clients through regulatory and compliance processes, including MLR/FDA review cycles.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing, cross-functional team, providing strategic direction and professional development.
  • Oversee large, complex integrated teams, ensuring seamless collaboration across functions and thoughtful deployment of talent based on strengths.
  • Manage and steward significant client budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across channels.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for clients and internal teams, providing leadership in high-pressure situations.
  • Drive operational excellence across the account, including forecasting, staffing, and financial management.
  • Influence client marketing investment decisions, guiding budget prioritization across channels.
  • Foster an inclusive team environment that supports retention, engagement, and development of future leaders.

Experience that contributes to success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years in healthcare communications, with at least 5 years in senior account leadership roles overseeing complex, multi-stakeholder engagements.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale, omnichannel pharma marketing programs across digital, paid media, linear, CTV, OOH, and PR.
  • Deep experience managing complex media ecosystems and understanding channel roles across patient and HCP journeys.
  • Proven ability to lead integrated marketing efforts across paid, owned, and earned channels.
  • Strong experience working with creative colleagues and ability to develop processes that optimize the partnership
  • Strong familiarity with data-driven marketing and campaign performance optimization.
  • Experience navigating regulated pharma environments and MLR processes.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain senior-level client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and delivering measurable business impact.
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex healthcare concepts into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive team culture and mentoring junior talent to support professional growth and team excellence.
