At Burson, we’re looking for an Account Manager to join our Corporate and Public Affairs team. This is your opportunity to work with iconic clients helping engage key audiences, execute creative campaigns to shape their reputations and drive business results.
As an Account Manager, you’ll play a central role in day-to-day client relationships—managing account workflows, contributing to strategic planning, and delivering campaigns that deliver impact. With a focus on corporate affairs, you’ll execute proactive and reactive communications strategies, ensuring clients’ voices resonate across media, industry, and stakeholder landscapes.
You’ll take hands-on ownership of project delivery, fostering creative problem-solving, and supporting junior team members. You’ll also contribute to business growth by identifying organic growth opportunities and supporting integrated pitch solutions.
What you'll do:
- Day-to-Day Client Management: Act as a key day-to-day contact for clients, building trusted relationships, running regular account status meetings, and ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Media Relations & Execution: Contribute to strategic campaign planning, build strong media contacts, and execute proactive media relations strategies across earned, owned, and digital channels.
- Creative Storytelling & Content Creation: Draft and refine high-quality content (press releases, op-eds, briefing notes, social content) tailored to diverse platforms and audiences.
- Project & Workflow Management: Drive day-to-day account workflows across multiple projects, ensuring high-quality output, strict adherence to deadlines, and alignment with client expectations.
- Team Coordination & Mentorship: Guide and delegate effectively to junior colleagues, supporting their day-to-day work and fostering a collaborative environment while working with more senior colleagues to
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with data and insight specialists, strategists, and colleagues in creative to incorporate data-driven insights into campaign delivery.
- Growth & New Business Support: Help identify organic growth opportunities within existing accounts and contribute to proposals and presentations for new business pitches.
- Operational & Financial Tracking: Track account budgets, vendor invoices, and project timelines to ensure campaigns are delivered efficiently and on budget.
Experience that contributes to success:
- Agency experience in corporate communications or corporate affairs (typically 3–4+ years of agency experience).
- Proven track record in account handling, with demonstrated ability to manage day-to-day client requests and execute corporate communications campaigns.
- Media relations experience, including a track record of securing high-tier coverage and executing reputation management tactics.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to turn complex corporate topics into engaging content for varied audiences.
- Emerging leadership skills, with experience delegating tasks to and mentoring junior team members (AEs/SAEs).
- Strong presentation and communication skills, confident in client-facing environments and internal team settings.
- Financial literacy, including experience managing project trackers, purchase orders, and budget monitoring.
- Analytical mindset, familiar with using media analytics, monitoring tools, and reporting to refine strategy and demonstrate campaign ROI.
