Burson is seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our award winning, best in class, Health & Wellness team in New York. This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional with experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, or wellness communications who is eager to play a meaningful role on integrated client accounts.
As a Senior Account Executive, you will serve as a key day-to-day contributor across multiple client engagements, helping to drive strategic communications programs, media relations initiatives, digital and social campaigns, disease awareness efforts, thought leadership programs, corporate communications activities, and product communications initiatives. You will partner closely with account leaders and cross-functional teams across earned media, digital, creative, strategy, analytics, influencer engagement, and paid media to deliver work that advances client business objectives.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized self-starter with strong writing skills, media relations experience, a passion for healthcare communications, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced agency environment. This role offers significant opportunities for growth, increased client exposure, and leadership development within one of the industry's leading healthcare communications practices.
What you'll do:
- Manage day-to-day account activities and serve as a trusted team member across multiple health and wellness clients.
- Develop strategic communications materials, including press releases, media pitches, messaging documents, FAQs, briefing materials, executive communications, and social content.
- Build and maintain relationships with healthcare, pharmaceutical, trade, business, and consumer media.
- Support media outreach efforts and assist in securing impactful earned media opportunities.
- Monitor industry news, market trends, competitive activity, and stakeholder developments to provide actionable insights.
- Coordinate integrated campaigns across earned, owned, social, digital, and influencer channels.
- Participate in client meetings and contribute thoughtful recommendations that support business objectives.

Manage timelines and workflows associated with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review processes.
- Mentor and support junior team members, helping foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Contribute to new business opportunities, research efforts, and agency growth initiatives.
Experience that contributes to success:
- 3+ years of experience in public relations, communications, integrated marketing, or healthcare communications.

Experience supporting product communications, disease awareness, corporate communications, or advocacy programs within regulated healthcare environments.

Working knowledge of pharmaceutical Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review processes and the ability to manage projects through approval workflows.

Experience using Veeva PromoMats (or similar pharmaceutical content review and approval platforms) to support material submission, routing, review, and approval processes.

Understanding of FDA regulations and healthcare industry compliance considerations as they relate to communications and marketing activities.
- Experience supporting healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, wellness, medical device, or patient advocacy clients.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt content for multiple audiences (patients, caregivers, consumers, HCPs) and channels.
- Understanding of the healthcare landscape, including pharmaceutical communications, disease awareness campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience supporting integrated campaigns that incorporate earned media, digital, social, and content strategy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Media relations experience and familiarity with healthcare media landscapes are a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field.
