Matt is an inspirational agency leader, mentor and communicator with 25+ years strategic communications experience spanning consumer brands, technology, professional services and healthcare sectors. He is passionate about the role earned communications and creativity can play in delivering real business impact and growth.
He has a demonstrated and award-winning strategic focus combined with commitment to flawless, high impact operational execution across some of the world's biggest brands including Coca-Cola, L'Oréal and Virgin Atlantic. He is creative, energetic, highly personable and collaborative with a true commitment to creativity and quality from strategic inception to delivery and measurement.
Matt joined Burson as Chief Operating Officer, EMEA in July 2025, from Ogilvy PR, where he was EMEA President, responsible for the agency’s strategic vision, operations and growth across more than 15+ markets in the region. Matt also led Ogilvy’s consumer PR globally for six years and sat on the agency’s global leadership team. An experienced client leader, Matt played a key role in many of Ogilvy’s integrated clients including Bacardi, TJX Europe, Google and WPP Open X for Coca-Cola.
Before Ogilvy, Matt was with Havas-owned One Green Bean for seven years, initially as Australian Managing Director ahead of returning to London to launch its UK business as Managing Director.
Matt is a recognised industry leader and regular awards judge, and in 2025 was in the UK PRWeek Powerbook for the sixth year running and also been a juror for the Cannes PR Lions.
Matt grew up in Melbourne, Australia and has lived in the UK for more than 20 years. He lives between Brighton and London with his food photographer husband, Ellis.
