Vikki Chowney is a 22+ year leader in content and digital communications, with deep expertise in influencer strategy. As Global Head of Influencer at Burson, she oversees the WPP agency’s team of specialists, shaping how brands build long-term, credible partnerships with influential voices.
As part of the Global Digital Leadership Team, Vikki drives Burson’s influencer offer across all markets. She collaborates with regional and practice leads to ensure programs are insight-led, measurable, and designed for lasting impact - grounded in audience understanding, cultural context, and a sharp focus on risk mitigation & brand integrity. Burson's influencer portfolio includes some of the world’s most recognized and ambitious brands, including Ford, adidas, Activision, ANA, Hill’s, and Google.
Previously, Vikki was Global Head of Content & Publishing and U.S. Innovation & Creative Lead at Hill & Knowlton, where she built and scaled the agency’s U.S. Innovation & Creative Hub from New York, and led a global network of experts across editorial, branded content, social, and influencer marketing. This delivered award-winning campaigns for clients including Pfizer, ANA, Intel, Huawei, and the United Nations.
Throughout her career, Vikki has championed smarter, more sustainable approaches to influence. At TMW Unlimited, she established the agency’s social media department from the ground up, leading campaigns for major companies including 12 of Unilever’s brands, Infiniti, Canon and Sony. She later joined Condé Nast Britain as Director of Brand Partnerships, where she developed a centralized, brand-owned content offering rooted in the editorial authority and talent of titles like Vogue, GQ, and Vanity Fair.
Vikki is a former journalist, most recently as News Editor for Econsultancy. She's also written for Contagious, The Guardian, Marketing, Marketing Week and was a G20Voice blogger for Oxfam at the London and Pittsburgh Summits in 2009. She also worked in-house as Content Editor for the Jaguar Future project - created by Jaguar to tell the stories behind the C-X16 concept.
She’s been recognized as a PR Week US 40 Under 40 and in PRovoke’s first ever EMEA Innovator list, is a speaker and mentor, sharing her expertise at industry events like Cannes Lions, SXSW and through mentorship programs within WPP. Beyond her professional pursuits, Vikki enjoys traveling with her three children, reformer pilates, and curating the perfect playlist.
