More About Jonathan Hughes
Based in London, Jon Hughes is Burson’s Chief Executive Officer in EMEA. Passionate about client work and the use of innovation, data, and creativity to solve their problems and unlock value, Jon is responsible for leading the growth of the business, brand and reputation across the region by strengthening and empowering regional teams to thrive on innovation, creativity and executional excellence.
Jon joined Burson from Edelman where he spent four years, most recently as Chief Operating Officer, EMEA. Before that, he was at Golin for 14 years, in successive leadership roles all marked by considerable business growth. He co-managed Golin's London office, expanding the team from 26 to over 200. His subsequent role as President, International, saw him move to Hong Kong to build out the agency’s Asia network. He was then promoted to joint CEO (CEO+) focusing on International markets as well as Golin’s global corporate and technology practices.
With over 25 years of experience working across EMEA and Asia, Jon has a reputation as a trusted advisor to senior clients across diverse industries, disciplines and geographies. He has built award-winning teams that have helped some of the world's largest brands navigate complex geopolitical scenarios and major commercial opportunities and challenges.
Jon graduated from Cranfield University with a bachelor’s degree in Command & Control Systems and Operations.
