More about the role:
We are looking for a Freelance Senior Account Manager to support communications work within the aviation sector. This role is ideal for someone with strong media relations experience, a solid understanding of the aviation industry, and the confidence to represent clients in both external engagements and internal stakeholder meetings.
Based in Singapore, you will work closely with regional teams to drive strategic communications initiatives, manage media engagement, and support day-to-day client counsel. The role requires someone proactive, commercially aware, and comfortable providing senior client counsel as well as day-to-day support with a Singapore going regional remit. You should be able to attend in-person meetings in Singapore at least twice a week, with possible occasional travel opportunities.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the day-to-day communications lead for aviation clients, providing strategic counsel, proactive recommendations, and dependable client management.
- Represent clients confidently in internal and external stakeholder meetings on behalf of the communications team.
- Develop and execute strategic communications plans aligned with business objectives, industry developments, and market priorities.
- Draft high-quality press materials including press releases, media pitches, statements, briefing documents, and executive messaging.
- Engage in media engagement efforts by identifying relevant journalists and outlets, building strong relationships, and securing meaningful coverage.
- Develop targeted media profiles and engagement recommendations, providing strategic insight into why specific media are relevant and valuable for each announcement or initiative.
- Monitor aviation, aerospace, travel, geopolitical, regional and business media trends to identify opportunities, risks, and timely story angles.
- Support announcement planning, media briefings, interview coordination, and event communications where required.
- Contribute ideas and strategic input to communication campaigns, thought leadership initiatives, and broader reputation-building efforts.
Experience that contributes to success:
- Proven experience in public relations, corporate communications, or account management, ideally within aviation, aerospace, B2B, or highly regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of the aviation industry and ability to navigate complex corporate environments.
- Strong media relations experience with a solid understanding of local and regional media landscapes.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with demonstrated experience drafting press releases and media materials
- Ability to think strategically about media engagement, including evaluating media relevance, audience fit, and reputational impact.
- Confident stakeholder manager with experience representing clients in meetings and managing senior-level interactions.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities independently in a freelance capacity.
- Based in Singapore and available to attend in-person meetings at least twice a week.
- Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented with strong attention to detail.
