More about the role:
Burson has an immediate opening for an Account Executive to support two leading consumer personal care brands within the agency's Consumer & Brand practice.
This role offers the opportunity to work across two distinct brands with different audiences and communications strategies—one a purpose-driven leader in the natural personal care space and the other a modern, culture-forward brand known for its creative, consumer-first marketing approach.
You'll contribute to integrated communications programs spanning earned media, influencer partnerships, talent collaborations, experiential events, product launches, and purpose-driven storytelling. This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to highly visible consumer brands while developing your expertise across traditional media relations, influencer engagement, and integrated communications.
What you'll do:
- Support day-to-day account and project management activities across two leading consumer personal care brands, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and aligned with client expectations.
- Build knowledge of each brand's positioning, target audience, campaign priorities, competitive landscape, and evolving media environment across consumer health, beauty, wellness, and lifestyle communications.
- Assist with the development and execution of earned media strategies, including proactive pitching, media outreach, monitoring, and ongoing relationship management support.
- Draft and edit communications materials such as press releases, talking points, briefing materials, status updates, reports, presentations, media lists, and other client-ready documents under guidance from senior team members.
- Participate actively in internal and client meetings, contributing updates, ideas, and thoughtful input while continuing to build confidence in presenting to a variety of audiences.
- Monitor media coverage, track campaign performance, and compile coverage reports and analytics recaps to support ongoing client reporting needs.
- Assist in the planning and execution of media events, influencer activations, talent partnerships, and experiential campaigns that drive brand awareness and consumer engagement.
- Support integrated communications programs involving media, influencers, creators, talent partners, and other external stakeholders to execute earned and integrated campaigns.
- Coordinate product seeding, media and influencer mailers, event materials, and campaign logistics in support of product launches and brand initiatives.
- Conduct research and gather supporting materials for presentations, award submissions, trend tracking, and new business opportunities as needed.
- Coordinate timelines, meeting agendas, status trackers, and internal communications to support seamless account management across workstreams.
- Work closely with senior team members while also helping provide direction on select administrative or coordination tasks to junior support where appropriate.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment that values accountability, creativity, initiative, and professional growth.
Experience that contributes to success:
- 2–3 years of experience in public relations, communications, media relations, or a related field; agency experience and consumer brand experience preferred.
- Previous experience supporting consumer, lifestyle, beauty, wellness, personal care, or CPG brands is preferred. Experience working on influencer marketing, experiential campaigns, earned media, or integrated communications programs is a plus.
- Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging across a variety of audiences and formats.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in earned media, influencer engagement, consumer storytelling, events, and integrated communications campaigns.
- Experience participating in client communications and contributing to day-to-day account management responsibilities with increasing ownership.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams and levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with media monitoring and database tools such as Cision and Muck Rack is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for learning, taking initiative, and contributing to a team that values quality, accountability, and development.
- Availability to work from New York, where the client, events, and key in-person responsibilities are centered.
